Apartment Updates: Bowood Headboard and Sarah K Designs Bedding

Issues are genuinely starting up to pick up steam in the condominium! I’m generally sharing real-time updates on Instagram but I required to publish some additional pictures of the new headboard listed here for the reason that I like it SO much. I’m so happy that Jen and I resolved on applying Bowood for this piece. To say it is been reworked is an understatement. As you might remember, the headboard is the Pondicherry from Serena and Lily, in a grey linen that they offered. I favored it but was in no way around the moon about it, and soon after a number of years it unquestionably experienced a couple of stains and was in have to have of a makeover. I briefly thought of getting a diverse headboard entirely, or a mattress (I truly wished a brass mattress!), but finally we resolved that reupholstering this was the greatest choice. I’m basically seriously happy we had been in a position to reuse some thing I now experienced – and observing it in this new material has manufactured me comprehend how much I in fact love the form and strains of it. Like, Love!

We applied Jen’s upholsterer for this challenge, and I know I’m a terrible blogger due to the fact this would be considerably additional intriguing or informative for men and women if I had like, DIY’ed it! Or more remarkable if I’d uncovered it secondhand or what have you. Alas, I am not a DIYer and I am not fortunate plenty of (or individual sufficient) to come across a piece like this secondhand! So we used a expert and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. It is just spectacular and critically helps make the room. I have usually preferred Bowood but I have to say, it’s even much more impactful and gorgeous in particular person. Also wanted to be aware that I used Bowood Union, which is the model which is a blend of cotton, nylon and linen. Common Bowood is 100% cotton and comes in a several colorways. My colorway is environmentally friendly/grey. I chose this due to the fact there are two neutral colorways of the 100% cotton Bowood – green/gray, or white/leaf (there are also blue and pink variations). The green/grey had a incredibly beige ground, and the white/leaf had a pretty white floor. It was difficult to make a decision since I appreciated equally in various methods – the beige ground experienced a rather tea-coloured, antique appear, but the white/leaf was quite thoroughly clean hunting. Thankfully there was a best resolution – Bowood Union in eco-friendly/gray. It has a beige floor that is not AS beige as the other edition – so it is very seriously the fantastic medium between the two. Puzzling, perhaps! I felt it was significant to do my exploration and see all of the color and material selections prior to picking out, so I’m happy I did that.

I also required to share how significantly I enjoy my Sarah K. Styles bedding! I discovered it via (who else?) Louise Roe, and just had to have it – even however figuring out United kingdom sizing was a bit of a head-scratcher. I’ve normally just been completely enamored with ditsy florals so there was no concern in my intellect that I necessary this duvet and pillow set. It is so pretty and charming. The hues, the print, the ruffles…just excellent. I have a comprehensive size bed and I’m quite positive I obtained the Uk King dimension. It suits correctly and it is definitely gentle and cozy. (By the way, I genuinely need to have to swap the drum shades – I’m pondering of undertaking a pleated eco-friendly material!). It is in fact odd, I used to constantly discover sleeping underneath my duvet super not comfortable and it felt definitely sizzling and far too significant with a linen duvet deal with on it…but ever considering the fact that I switched to this a single, I have no troubles and find it actually cozy. Was it the quilt cover all this time that was the issue, not the duvet itself?! I honestly never ever suspected! Bizarre.

I just simply cannot consider how a lot I appreciate Bowood! It’s this kind of a excellent combine of experience type of classic and antique, but also refreshing and lively. There is very little fusty or fussy about it. It’s type of a great material and I may go ahead and do curtains in it too, due to the fact it’s just so good.

Plenty a lot more updates that I need to have to photograph and share – many thanks for subsequent!
